| Yes it is a 1999 2500,automatic,2whl.drive. I have a good bit knowledge on older diesel's as I have owned 3 855 NTC CUMMINS,1 Cat 3406 B, 1 6-92 V Detroit, and 1 6.2 GMC.however all of these were mechanical engines I don't think I'm going to be impressed with the electronics. But I am happy with this Dodge's performance and at 18.3 mpg hwy./17.3 with gooseneck loaded down I can't complain too much.I reset the tps and check engine stayed off a few days then come back on,tried to reset twice and it stays on so I'm guessing the sensor is bad. |

| so do you have a code reader? how do you know it's the TPS? reseting the TPS just means the computer has to learn all the throttle postions again, it dosent really narrow down your problem unless you take a multimeter to it and ohms it out and check it against factory specs you cant be too sure.

| On *fords* the TPS is set by measuring the voltage. On my mustang one of the two screws could be loosened and this would allow you to rotate is slightly which would adjust the voltage. You would measure the voltage by tapping in to each of the 2 wires. I am not sure if it is the same for a dodge, but it may help you in your search of finding an answer, it may be as simple as adjusting it.

| think idle or ignition on should read .2 volts and under. cant remember. anything over .4 is broke as a joke. might want to clean out carbon buildup in the throttle body as deposits will affect such. |

| As I said electronics are new to me and a lot lot of what I've heard is greek to me.So if any of could please help in country boy english it would be a great help. O'Riley and NAPA only have these sensors for standard trans. I'm guessing one for an automatic is a dealer item.Or is there any difference?Besides just turning off the check engine lite I would truly like to resolve the problem and not have it cost me an arm and a leg |
