Hi

I having problems with the engine backfiring and misfiring

changed the throttle control unit(air control unit)

the timing is going back and forth as I check the timing
not steady few notches

Help me please!

if the timing keeps jumping around might have a worn out gear on the distributor.

how old is the timing set? you might need to replace both the set and disty gear together and either one you'll be in pretty deep....... g, luck

Then timing and engine is still the original since bought new

FINALLY figured it out, The backfiring was a dirty air filter

The stalling after few minutes or few times after year and a half later was the coil , The coil was the problem changed the coil and purring again

the timing is orginal the timimg is really bad now got to turn the distributor to it's limit

So what it is the solution?
