taillights not working

Hi Guys, I have a 1984 Dodge 1/2 ton pickup. It is my farm truck . . . nothing seems to kill the thing! But I have a problem with the taillights. The fuse isn't blown, the bulbs are good, the turn signal and brake lights work fine but the taillights refuse to work. My guess is there a broken wire between the switch and the taillights but I don't know how to locate it. Anybody have an idea what the problem is . . . or any ideas on how to fix the problem?

I had this situation with my 95 Ram, and it ended up being a blown fuse for the dash lights rather then the tail lights. A grounding wire kept blowing the fuse that I had hooked up for the head unit. Maybe the same thing for ya?

I have checked all the fuses in the box and looked at the wiring diagram also to see if I could trace the wiring. No luck on the latter and the fuses were all good. Tomorrow I am going to check the switch. This seems rather odd to me but I don't know all that much about truck wiring. tm
