Does it have a temp sensor? sounds like a sensor is shutting down the fuel flow. Or is it carb with a butterfly not closing all the way?

ok I assume you mean manuel fuel pump, sounds like the pump is losing prime when it sits for a while , check the line from the tank to the pump. instead of either try reg gas.....less chance of a problem later

Do you run your engine without a air cleaner/filter? Did you add the carburator on at a later date? Try getting it started and then before you turn off your engine each time give it a little gas then shut it down immediately. Lubricate the choke and de-pit/clean the carb intake and butterfly. Replace the inline fuel filter as well. Make sure it isn't backwards.

What is between the manifold and the carb?

its a freinds truck. he has a air cleaner on it. the carb was on the truck when he got it .he put a new filter on it. the truck sat for a few years even tryed fresh gas. now he knows why his father inlaw gave him this thing.

Sounds like a seasonal truck - stays cold when its cold out and gets heated up for the summer weather. Send it to So. California or Florida. lol

When you start it cold do you use the old carb procedure........step on the gas 2 times then stay off and turn the key?
