idling

I have a 98 dodge truck and sometimes it will idle and sometimes it won't. There are no warning lights on and the computer won't read a problem. I disconnected the battery to try to reset....didn't work. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jim

I found the thread on this and will try those things suggested. I thought I had looked through the old posts but I must have missed this one.

very common for the Idle Air Control to get gummed up, is located behind throttle body towards cab....

i think the one i replaced on a 99 was about 40 or 45 bucks. need a torx socket but forget which size. might try taking it out and cleaning it real good first.
