over doing the engine

went and picked up some galvanized fencing sat from a guy. ended up buying some other stuff but overall ended up leaving with about 20 rolls of fencing, several hundred feet of pipe, drill press, metal carts, yall know, stuff i can live without. i had faith in my truck. she pulled the load great coming home. made it about 4 miles from the house (25 mile trip) when stupid moped slowed me down to 50 in a 70. decided to pass him. WRONG!!! truck started knocking and missing. engine light blinking its head off. made it home though.
checked codes that evening to find out i had a random misfire, misfire on 1, 2, and 8. cleared the codes and pulled 1 and 2 spark plug. spark plugs used to be white but mine were yellow. cleaned up the tips on those two so i could make it to town to buy some new plugs. made it to town and of course, there is that miss again. light comes on. made it home and pulled codes again. misfire on number 8. lovely. replaced plugs. number 8 plug, the porcelin had broke in half around the node. havent seen too much of that happen.
seems like that was my entire problem. never had this miss before. i believe i will take it a little easier with her in the future. i might end up with a mud truck.

trust me, you don't want a "me truck", there not very fun to play with. JW's mud truck is a different story though.

no more plugs. all i done was fry the plugs when i put the power to her coming up that hill. she couldnt downshift no more at that rate of speed and would not gain engine speed.
this is my current one steve. it is the white 99 dodge. if you are referring to the 64, that was 5 trucks ago, if you consider the bronco to be a truck.
john might be on to something. my FIL had a green chevy identical to yours. some year, make, model. he sold it 4 or 5 different times on credit and repo'd it everytime. he made every bit of his money back on that truck and still owned it.

Glad it's running good again. I once replaced my plugs on my truck the gap was over double of what it should have been and even the ceramic use wore down but my baby was this running good must be that MSD system I have on her.

a couple of weeks ago they looked pretty good. as far as plugs go anyways. i went with the platinum plugs this time. seems to put a little giddyup in her step. really didnt want to go with no cheaper plugs as someone had put on an aftermarket coil and 8mm wires. kinda senseless to me to go with cheap plugs with the mods.
