new member--cruise problem

Just bought an 01 1500 yesterday. only problem i see is the cruise doesn't work,& the light doesnt light up,so is the problem a fuse or something else. if it's a fuse which one controls it. i looked at the fuse block cover and it doesn't say which fuse controls it.
besides that little problem everything else works fine.

did you pop both fuse panels?? should have one under the hood and one just inside the drivers door. should be labeled cruise.

I know that on some of the newer vehicles if the 3rd brake light is out the cruise won't work. My 2 cents

well i pulled both covers, and i dont see it labeled on either. started to pull each fuse, to see it one was burnt, didn't get to them all yet.but wouldn't that mean something else shouldn't be working also? The 3rd. brake light isn't burnt out either,not sure how that would confuse the cruise to not turn on when pressed. and i dont know what you mean about the brake switch. only thing i figure you mean is that the switch might be out of adjustment so it would actually make it think i was applying the brakes all the time & not turn on. but i'm still open to other suggestions. like what would be the secret code on the fuse box cover that says "cruise." Thanks for all your help.

ALLDATA says turn ign on-off-on-off-on within 5 secs the odometer will display codes. p1684 or done means no codes.

there are metal tips at the end of the fuses. all you need is a test light, and touch the end of them
