| anti spin differential i'm lookin to buy a diesel. the add for the truck i'm lookin at says it has anti-spin differential. is that like positrac or is it something completely different. any insight will be greatly appriciated. |

| It can be called many things, that style truck would have clutch packs inside the carrier, that require an additive in the gear oil. they basically give friction to put more power to both wheels, not a bad system really.

| I have a 99 3500 dodge dually it has the limited slip rear end it is a good system if you dont do alot of off roading. |

| I have the same thing in mine and it works well - off road as well as on road. A locker would be better, but that's not really in my budget right now! The only drawback to the limited slip (or anti-spin as they called it) is that when you change your rear end oil you also need to add friction modifier. If you do not, the clutches in the rear end will not work correctly. A limited slip rear end that does not have enough friction modifier in it will also making clicking noises when you make a tight turn, especially in reverse.
