1996 5.9 stalling and sputtering

My 96 ram will stall out after driving city streets. After accelerating al seems fine but after letting off the gas the rpm's will drop and stall or bounce back up to the appropriate level. Thinking fuel pump or idle control sensor. Any thoughts?

It is very common for the Idle Air control to become gummed up, pickup a gasket and pull it off and give it a good cleaning with carb cleaner, should help out the stalling issue...

dont believe your problem is the fuel pump. and it is no use trying to replace the filter since you dont have one. thank you dodge. and you cant buy just the sock for the pump. again, thank you dodge. take some aerasol cleaner and spray down the throttle body. carbon buildup will choke down the throttle plate. try not to spray it directly into the tps though.

Should I do this multiple times? I tried it the first time and it seemed to improve slightly.

Yes you'll probably use up a whole can of carb cleaner before any real improvement takes place! And believe it or not water workes as well just don't pour to much in there or you'll have problems!!! Seafoam works wonders for that too.

i will take that cleaner and shoot it in there. then i take a small brush like a hard bristle tooth brush and clean the heck out of it.
