If you do the compression check and it is low, squirt some oil in the cyl and see if it comes up(that would mean rings)
however, A lot of the manufactures seem to have trouble with plentum gaskets, How did the previous owner make th determination?

he took it to his shop and i guy said that was the problem from what i understand....dont know if any test were ran or not

well have at it then, make sure all the parts are clean before reassembly, and use a torque wrench. let us know how you make out

ran compression test on #8 was 40 and # 6 was 170 so i think there is a piston problem on #8 is there anything i can do to bring it back up without pullin the motor.......let me know asap!!!

you may have a burnt valve. did you try squirting some oil in the cylinder to see if the compression bumped up?

ok result on squirting oil it went up maybe to 50 55 at most

time to pull the head and intake and replace the gaskets along with checking out the cylinder walls and valves.

so is it the piston rings on that cylinder or something else... would a bad plenum gasket or intake gasket cause this
