Fouling plugs out??

I just bought a 1998 dodge ram 1500. They guy i bought it from said that about every 600 miles u have to change the plugs becasue oil is fouling the plug.i drove it from Minnesota to kansas which is about 700 miles and i havent notice anything. the check engine light was on when i bought it i check it and it was #8 cylinder misfire so i thinking with 7 fouling out its making 8 foul to but i havent notices any oil burning but i have only drove it one day so i just askin for ideas on oil being on the plugs casue obiviously it burnin enough to foul the plug. any ideas

bad valve seals? worn piston rings?

do a compression check and you'll find your culprit.

change the oil and filter, put lucas additive in it, and drive it, see what happens. Autolight plugs are good for oil burners, they don't foul as fast

PCV valve could be bad... beleive it or not. could cause excessive oil to be pushed down the vavle stems or past the rings. cheap fix

YES stumpuller is big times correct I have seen it happen on a dodge car. Might give it a good tune up with quality parts meaning not from Auto Zone.

well, my compression is around 170 with one cylinder at 115. as long as they are all around the same, you should be ok. you could also rent the tool at autozone and do a leak down test too.
