| 1996 Dodge 2500 Advice Hello, I am new to the forums. My 01 dodge 1500 was just crashed so i need a new truck in a hurry. I'm considering purchasing a 1996 Dodge 2500 and would like some advice. Here are the details. 106K miles Extended Cab Short Bed Auto 360ci $4995 Can anyone give me some advice or pros and cons. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I do tow a 7000lb rv from time to time and some hualing and the truck will not be my primary driver. I had to replace the tranny on my 01 twice so i am leary of that. Thanks, John |

| Take it for a test drive and make sure everything works first, but it sounds like a good deal. 360 is a good motor, but very thirsty. |

| You dont buy a 3/4 ton truck thinking about gas mileage. A guy I work with has a truck that sounds very close to this. 360 2wd and he gets about 16 HWy 14 town.

| And to point it out, the whole point of my post was just to make the point that the 360 is exceptionally thirsty. Not argue preferences. |

| I know, I had to argue..... its a bad habit, and its fun ..... but to echo what you said, The 360's are quite thirsty...... they arent real bad, if you can keep your foot out of them..... but, they are still thristy. |

You got me. Touche' I do agree, the 360 is a good engine, a good work horse, just thirstier then the rest. Yes, the 03' and the 85' in my signature are both diesels. The stats I was posting where for the 03' | |
