odometer and shift indicator light

I have a 2002 dodge ram 1500 that the battery goes dead every night, I changed the battery and it still goes dead , I noticed the other night that the odometer light stayed on and the shift indicator is on also on, I bought the truck with a bad motor , so i had to change it and have had no other problems, LOOKING FOR ADVICE. THANKS BRUCE

Welcome to the forum bruce.
Might help to know what engine and cluster is in truck.

Since you changed battery and still have the nightly drain,
it seems like a one-time forgot-the-lights is ruled out.

Suggest the quickest way to isolate the problem may be to
charge batt, shut everything off, disconnect ground of batt
and jump the cable to batt with an amp meter or test light.
Then start pulling fuses one by one to see what gives you a drop.
Then you'll know where to go looking.
If fuses don't get it, try disconnecting alt.
Good luck and post back what you find.

Please don't quote me -
I didn't want to read it when I wrote it.

It may very well be an easy fix,
depends on where you spot the draw.
May take less than two minutes for that,
could take longer to set up the meter/light.
