stupid horn!!

ok people, just found out that when i have a trailer connected to the 04 dodge 3500, the horn blows every couple seconds while im in reverse. can someone please tell me how to shut it up........preferably without just taking out the horn fuse.

if you drivers door was open they do that. and i dont know how to fix that.

but they are only suppose to do it when the door is open?

as far as i know. my bosses 06 ram does it only when the drivers door is open. some kind of warning device i guess. his does not honk when he is back up a trailer unless his door is open.

that was it...just got back from camping trip and i didnt have a problem with it. must have had the door open.

One of Dodge's better idea's I guess??? Why don't they just put a light on the Dash?" "Hey Idiot, Shut the door". I know many people who open the door and look behind them backing up a trailer. Especially the ones that can not get the concept of doing everything backwards looking in the mirror.

This is how dodge addressed the issue of shifter not going all the way into park - when customers would put truck in park and step out with the engine running the trucks would start moving backwards. Yes it did happen to a few people and i am sure Chrysler paid dearly, i happened to be working at a dodge dealership when they issued the recall.

I think thats is Dodges way of saying it has luxury features, now they can charge you an extra 5 grand on the vehicle.
