The truck does have the factory tires and wheels (17") on it and I do keep them pretty firm. I drove a lot more when I was working but got laid off two years ago so havn't driven much at all since then. Probably just as well cause I'm now looking for a truck to pull my RV and this 6er won't get it.Will be worth more with low mileage. As you have read here it just isn't feasable to try and change the engine out. Too many other things have to be changed too including the tranny. Way too expensive. Guess I'll have to trade down some to get what I want now that I'm retired (forced).

I have found that in the last year trucks have become somewhat scarce. I went online to NADA and found that my truck had gone up in value to the point where I now had 2k equity in it. Called the Dodge place and arranged to trade the 06 sicks cylinder for a 06 three quarter ton with a hemi and all the goodies that go with it and the trailer package. Havn't seent he truck yet as it's on it's way from another dealer but my dealer paid off my loan and I will have a new payment that's $50 a month cheaper. Now I can tow my trailer and the **** with the mileage. Problem solved.

| Congrats to you. Sounds like all is going to work out well. As bad as your fuel mileage was, you may not see a differcene in the Hemi powered 3/4 ton. Hope it works out well for you.

Thanks guys and I have to agree with you. last year I owed more than the truck was worth. This year it's worth more than I owe. Go figure. I made the trade now before the car companies have a chance to flood the market with new vehicles again and it worked. Bout time I got a break. This truck I'm trading for has a 6 speed automatic tranny in it and has 45k miles on it. Does anyone know anything about this tranny? First time I've had a 6 speed in something smaller than a Freightliner. I hear ya on the mileage but if I have to have lousy mileage at least I'll have an engine that is supposed to have lousy mileage. I can't wait to put my foot in the throtlebody on that Hemi. Now I'll find out if all the hype about that engine is true. Pete

havent heard anything negative about the 6 speeds but have driven them. you will fall in love with it. the hype is overrated. it is overrated because the 5.9 magnum and 5.7 hemi is WAY different engines. so of course the numbers are going to be different. the 5.7 is going to put up between 75 to 100 horses more than the 5.9. it is impressive however, the hemi has just as many or more problems design wise than the magnum or it predecessor.

Well I get the truck tomorrow so the proof is in the pudding. I'll let you know what it turns out to be like. Here is a picture of the truck this afternoon. It's at a shop near the dealer and they are putting power windows and power door locks into it. Pete
