Dodge Dakota hesitates when first accelerating

My 1992 Dakota hesitates when accelerating at a lower speed - after that it's fine. It feels like it's not shifting right when first starting off from a full stop. My mechanic flushed out the transmission but I still have the problem. It's an automatic 6 cylinder. I just bought the truck and had to have a ton of work done to it. This is the last problem to solve except the radio. Thanks
