| 1984 Dodge Ramcharger front brake caliper hardware question? New member I am replacing the complete front braking system on my 1984 Dodge Ramcharger 2WD 318 The new hardware kit has 4 rubber bands included. does anyone know exactly wher they go? The old assembly did not have them installed. Thanks for any help! Lou |

| Welcome to the forum Lou. Thought the Ramchargers for 1975-88 used the Chrysler Sliding Caliper on a 11.75' rotor. Bendix was only used on the big rotor w/ Dana 60. Sorry but unless there's further info, I'd wonder if the rubberbands were to keep the package together. |

| Sorry no pictures, I do have to break down and buy a digital camera. The bands are definatly not part of the packging. the kit includes 4 each Bolts,anti-rattle springs, retainer clips, and rubber bands. On all searches for hardware kits regardless of manufacturer, they show the bands as part of the kit. Why I am asking this question is, I completed the assembly and the calipers are rattling, actually bouncing around. The noise is not the pads rattling, I used the compound on the pleces where the pads contact the caliper and the anti-rattle springs. I'm begining yo wonder if I just purchased a bad (cheap) hardware kit from Autozone, and the retainer clips are to weak to hold down the caliper securley. This is not my first brake job, I've been doing my own brakes for many years. The Chilton repair manual has an exploded view of the assembly showing an "O" ring placed between the retainer clip and adaptor frame. Placing anything there would rusult in less downward pressure of the retainer on the caliper. Any ideas? Lou |

| Honestly I'm completely dry on this one. Rubber to dry out on hot metal ? Unless you mean the o-ring behind retainer. Quote:
Forget one of the retainer screws ? (it happens . ![]() | |
