98 Dodge 1500, No heat I recently changed my water pump and radiator on my 98 dodge Ram 1500. After I got it back together and running I didn't have any heat. I then changed the thermostat. Still no heat. Any suggestions??

sounds like your water valve is not opening, i dont know on that model if itis vacuum or electically controlled but there is a valve on the system that closes when you turn your ac on to keep hot water away from your evaperator. If the problem is your just not getting air flow from your vents and your control doors are functioning you will have to remove your evaperator from the case and clean it cause its matted shut with debree and will not let the air flow

98 doesnt have a hot water control valve. they all had blend doors that alternated the flow of air through either the heater core or evaporator core. unusual that it worked before and not after. seems like the blend door idea would be a great place to start but knowing whether you have circulation through the core is much needed information.

| Disconnect your coolant lines going to your heater core, Runa a garden hose thru it and see if you have flow thru your heater core. if you do, Its that little motor under the passenger side fo the dash that isnt opening to heater door. You will need a Z screwdriver to get to the screws. Stupid design. Mine was out on my 99. I cleaned it up adn got it to work long enough to sell the truck.

You sure the hoses are hooked up right? Check the vacuum lines too. Maybe one got knocked off and the door won't open to let the heat out. Good idea to check the hoses when the engine is warmed up to see if they are hot. Pete
