| trailers i need to know if a 1987 d-150 4x4 1/2 ton with a 318 will pull a 4 horse trailer and if not what do i need |

| Hmmm good guestion. I would say no. It might haul it over level ground with the right suspension under the rear end but engine wise I would go with at least a 360 or larger. The better thing to do which is what I'm going to do is go with a 2500 that way you know it will haul it without any problems. Hope that helps. I will ask my brother who is a professional truck driver and knows quite a bit about these things. KC |

| Yes, a 318 will pull it but not very well. You need enough power to get moving and sometimes to pass. I'd get at least a 360. I'm a Ford fan and I just got rid of a 5.4 gas burner because it's too sluggish even though it would have pulled my 3 horse trailer. Got turbo diesel F250 4x4. JR |
