Dodge truck problem

Hello to all, i have a problem with my 95 dodge ram. I am getting gas
in my oil and don`t have any ideas. It doesn`t have a mechanical
fuel pump, so i don`t know where to start. Any ideas would be a great
help. Thanks. Bill

How does it run? Does it feel like it is missing a cylinder? Worst case scenerio, it might be bad piston rings. Check compression. Can you smell gas in the engine compartment? I had a 440 that did the same thing. 1 cylinder had low compresion. Rings. Hope this helps.

i'm goin with the rings to, but it may be a combination of spark plug not firing, combined with the bad rings.... or else, the gas probably wouldnt slip through the rings, it would combust in the cylinder along with the oil

Not missing, good power and no smoke. It seems to run as good as
it ever did, so i don`t think the rings are shot. Thanks for your input.
Have a great day. Bill

Check the injectors, It's possible to have an injector stick open after you shut off the engine the fuel rail stays presurised momentarily. the injector dribbles fuel into the cylender which leaks to the pan over time (Seen the same problem on a cadilac on time).

possible cause

Dear Bill.
Starting in 1992 when Ma Mopar redisigned the old "LA" style of engines they also switched them over to multi port fuel in jection.
The thing that sits up on top of the intake manifoldmay look like a carb. , but is only a way to measure and regulate air going to your engine.
The air comes in through the throttle body and is drawn straight down onto a pan that boltsa on to the underside of the intake manifold.
This is sealed with a gasket and is prone to breakage or failure.
Your local Dodge dealer can sell a complete kit to fix this.
You might want to check this scenario out.
Good luck.

No Camin kid no oil in fuel pumps, especially in fuel injected models. Some were bolted to the block and had engine oil lubricate the pump rod where it rode agains the cam., and I also wanted to add that oil and gas dont mix in the cylinders and combust. If that happens you really have a problem.

I would think th injector leaking is probally the most realistic scenario. So i would start there. Pull the plugs and if it has a leaking injector you will find it by inspecting the plugs. Also complete a compression chek I think you will find the problem

The fuel pump is electric and located inside the gas tank. If it leaks it leaks inside the gas tank and you can only tell because your engine will run bad because there is not enough fuel rail pressure.
The lower plenum gasket is prone to leaking on MOPARs and has to be replaced. Several new gaskets are out there, check around, there is a big difference between brands. This is the biggest suspect here.
You did not say "how much gas" nor "how often you check". Is there a lot, a little, when do you find it?
The stuck injector would de-pressurize the fuel rail after the igniton key is turned off and flood that cylinder if the valve were open. But you would also have hard starting, a definite miss, and a poorly running motor because of low fuel pressure in the fuel rail and a "flooded" cylinder.
On the fuel rail there is a "fuel pressure regulator valve"; this is controlled by vacumn, which is directly connected to the intake manifold. If it goes bad the fuel leaks into the intake/plenum and then into the engine (if the gaskets are bad). Again the motor would run bad because low fuel pressure in the fuel rail.
I agree with Chevyguy, pull the plugs to see if you can tell which cylinder is bad or getting too much fuel. Than pull the injector to see if you can tell it is leaking.
What kind of fuel mileage are you getting? Has it gone down quickly, indicating a problem with the fuel supply system?
Still leaning toward that lower plenum gasket being bad. A lot of MOPARS had this problem when some age was on the motor.
