Exclamation 1993 dodge dakota title problems

someone told me i could come here and ask to see if any one here might have junk title and vin plate for a 1993 dodge dakota truck...i have lost mine since purchase...didn't have a chance to title vehicle and cannot locate the original owner to apply for one...if anyone can help me,it would be greatly appreciated...thx in advance

you may be able to file for a lost title. if you have a bill of sales you could use that as proof or the secretary of state could contact the name on the title, just hope the guy is honest or you might be out a truck.

i tried to file for lost title,but they said he would have to do it.(the name on title),but he is no where to be found,long haul truck driver,and moved out of state....so i have no other options

i just went through the same thing. dont worry, you still have plenty of options. you can file for a mechanics lean, or ask your local tax office for an address and send a certified letter in the mail telling him that you are requiring a title. if he is nowhere to be found, the letter will be sent back to you to which you return to the tax office with the letter and they can issue you a new one. say he does respond and he wants to be a butt, you by law are allowed to charge him fees, more or less like an impound until one of two things happen. he will come and pick up the truck and the total amount of fees, which he MUST pay or the total will exceed the trucks value to where you can get an imbandonded vehichles title. good luck to you

where do you live?in what state?they said in tn you have to have a court order...i need 1 bad...i haven't tried certified letter yet but when they told me i had to have court order,i just gave up...

dont give up, i dont know the laws that well for TN, but ask arround for what you can do. there is always a back door to things like this. i live in texas.
