New to this forum; need info on later Dodge trucks

Hey everybody!

My screen name comes from the fact that I'm into (specifically) late 65 to 67 Dodge trucks. You know, the ones with those huge pie plate headlight rings?

Anyway, I transplanted my 66 onto a 72 chassis many years ago. At the time that I did it, I was only thinking about getting it done and not the big picture. Now, I want to redo it and make some changes as well. This is where I need your help.

My 72 chassis is a 100, and I wanna upgrade to a 2 or 300. I've built cars all my life, so I know what all I gotta change really. Rear axle, springs and spindle assemblys to name most of it. I know the A-arms interchange from 100 to 300, Though I think the ball joints had larger shafts for the heaver GVW trucks. Anyway, here's my question list:

1.) Regarding the spindle assembly; were there any mid-run changes that would not work with my chasis? And is there any particular year that is most desirable to get?

2.) Were the front cab mounts the same throughout the run? I whacked them off in order to fit the older (read longer) ones needed for the 66. This time I'm gonna make a bolt-em-up kit, so owners of these older trucks can swap onto a later frame with none of that goofy frame cutting stuff. So I need to know precicely what years they were used. I assume they were the same throughout all years, but you know what happens when you assume...

If I had the room and budget I'd just get another donor truck and make the swap again. But I'm kinda forced to work with what I got, and what I got is wore out. And since pops took to full time RVing, He really wants a truck (I own his 67, his only new vehicle purchase ever) and the 66 is perfect for it. So instead of just rebuiilding the 100 stuff, I'm upgrading at the same time, so he can sell that F*%*&#^! GM motorhome he's got (Cough: pieceofcrap).
