The first 500 miles

We just bought a new 06 350 1 ton diesel dully. It had 60 miles on it. Well, now it has 550 and has been in the shop 3 times already! 2 times for the engine light being on all the time and once for the temp gauge saying it was -40 all the time. How long before all the "bugs" are worked out? We never had these kind of problems with out 1996 2500.

you probably just got one of them bad apples. i have heard of people getting those "freak" cars and trucks before. had a brand new chevy that was in shop 13 times the first year before they finally got it to do right. i guess if you wanted to try to put your foot down, you could try and request a new truck since you are having so many difficulties with your present truck. dont think that would fly, but never hurts to try.

I would love to get a new truck out of them, but we are leaving for Washington state in 2 weeks! we got this truck for our move. We have only had it 2 weeks so far. We don't have time to get a new truck. I think the warranty should be good all over, but I would hate to have a break down in the middle of out 3k trip!

thats the risk you take. our truck kept having problems and we kept taking it back. by the end of the ordeal, they had put in a new engine in her. i would try and get something settled because it COULD cause more problems down the road. but, again, it might start running right. stay on them about fixing things, theyll eventually get tired of seeing you for free. but until then, it is a headache, i agree.
