2003 Hemi fuel economy

I Am looking into buying a 2003 dode 3/4 ton, crew cab, with a 5.7 liter hemi. I havnt done much research on these vehicles. any problems to look out for. What mpg can i expect. i was hoping to get a truck that can get around 18 mpg. is this possible. i know that the chevys can get this much, but can theses dodges? any help would be great thanks!

the truck was motor trend truck of the year for 03, and was a decent rig. The Hemi is a decent powerplant, and produced an impressive 345 hp, and 375ft. lbs. of torque. The 2wd is rated at 12/18 mpg, and the 4wd is rated at 11/16 mpg. Real easy to smash the skinny pedal so trying to keep that type of mileage may be difficult. The 5456rfe transmission I feel is a weak point on this truck if it does not have the NV 4500.
The dash is prone to cracking, and the inside has a bunch of plastic, but plenty of storage, and real truck size cup holders.

What I did to mine was to change out the muffler, added an air intake and changed out the headers. Down the freeway I can get 22 and in city about 17 of course I keep my foot light on the pedal.

Let me know what you think. I am thinking about adding a chip but not too sure which one to buy yet.
