LT tires

Say has anyone used bandag recapped tires, I have a ram3500, I'm hard on tires. I usually tow heavy loads, horse trailers, etc. ? These LT235/80R17 tires are alot of nickles and dimes.

re-treads have a lower heat resistance then standard, and hence the reason we see so many on the side of the road on the freeway. When you are hauling there is a lot of stress on the tires,(with more weight) therefore increasing heat. The lower cost really doesn't outweigh the risk. i would stick with the standard treads.

no way i would use recaps for steering axle tires. if you live in a hot climate and travel alot, i do not believe i would use them there either. i use virgins on everything around here but do have a couple of recaps that i use as spares.

the recaps would be alright if you did a lot of intown slow driving but towing like you do I would say that you need to keep using the best tire you can afford!
