ceramic are better from wha i've read on the forums here. They take more of a stop force and outlast others.

Ceramic pads have slighty lower friction coefficiant than semi-met brakes, that is to say, they take more pressure to stop in the same distance than semi-met pads. This is no problem with a 1/2 ton,or passenger car,but on a 1 ton dually, pulling a 5th wheel,it can become a factor. For this reason,we discourage our customers from installing ceramics on their big trucks,or on 4x4s with big, heavy tires. In fact for many of the larger, heavy duty 3/4 ton,and 1 ton models,we do not even offer a ceramic pad option.

The main advantage of ceramic pads,on a truck anyway, is that they are low dusting,so if you have fancy, open alloy wheels, they will not turn black with brake dust, and they are quieter.

A better choice for your truck might be fleet pads, which are designed for long life, and fade free performance, under heavy load conditions, when used by commercial fleets. However,if dusting is an issue for you, steer away from fleet pads, because they are heavy dusting.

Hope this helps.
Cheers!
Bruce

squeaky brakes

I have an 05 SRT-10, and the brakes are so loud it is insane. If anyone has a solution I would love to hear it. I have been back to the dealer several times only to be told that there is nothing wrong with my brakes (except for the loud squeaking), dusting is also a problem. If ceramic pads are the solution what is the best brand or type?
