Poor Gas mileage

I have a 02 1500 4 door Ram 4x4 I only get about 14 mpg. Have just put on a set of BF mud TA'S 285x65 17 now I only get 11-12 mpg. Just did a tune up with dubble platium plugs and a K&N air filter didn't help what eles could I do?

did the truck originally come with 285s?? if not, your speedo is off which will make the odometer off. a bigger or smaller tire will affect gas mileage period without other drivetrain changes.

No It cam with 265,s I know it was going to chang but not as much as it did. And the speed is only off by 4 mpm and my RPMs went up about 300 rpm. I wasn't sure if their was a code or somthing you would have put in for a bigger diechang!

have to reprogram it. if you do alot of intown driving, that will affect your mileage, increasing tire size. it will help on the road but will hinder you a little in town.
