| No vacuum line to check, sorry. Torqueflite 904,right? Probably whoever reasealed the trans put the valve body gasket in wrong, and blocked off some holes,so no fluid can flow,or left out,or mispleced a spring,or check ball. You should get with the P.O. and find out what shop did the work, and take it back, and make them fix it. P.O. should help you with this. Did he disclose there was a trans problem, before you bought? If you can't get a warrenty repair, this should be a fairly easy repair.I seriously doubt you need a rebuild.Torqueflites are nearly indestructable, unless they have been intentionally abused.Unfortunately, most trans shops are rip-off artists, who just want to sell you a rebuild job,and most general repair shops won't touch an automatic trans. So,you may have to do it yourself. Get a transmission manual, read up on it,and see if you think you can handle it.All that should be necessary is to drop the pan, remove the valve body, replace any springs, and check balls properly, replace the valve body with the gasket correctly installed, and replace the pan. (I think I am probably right, but remember, free advise is worth every penny you pay for it! Good luck! Cheers! Bruce __________________
