fluid and filter was changed a month or so again. he said the pan was fairly clean as was the filter. fluid had good color but a little looser than new fluid.

(Scratches head)

It might be the Throttle valve (TV) cable. It might be misadjusted or damaged.

I'll have to do some reading in my shop manuals, I'll try and get an answer to you soon.

The transmission end TV cable assembly mounts to the transmission case by a single 6MM bolt. A rubber sleeve type seal placed between the TV cable housing and the case hole prevents fluid from leaking out of the transmission. Check to see if there is any slack or if the cable is too tight. Also check to see if the cable assembly is damaged.

there is very slight slack up where it mounts to the throttle control link.

I would take it to the Chrysler dealership and have them take a look at it. I really can't say beacause I can't see the linkage.

I dont know if your buddys truck is still under warranty or not. That part is covered by the warranty, so it wouldnt cost a thing to get it fixed.
