My 94 ram 1500 4x4, 5.2L with a 46RH tranny just launched the tranny at the local boat landing. Since I'm just going to use the truck for plowing snow in the winter I don't need a tranny with over drive. Can I use a 727 or what are my other options/model years that may work. Any other info will be greatly appreciated.

Pinner: Welcome to the forum. Lets talk about this swap. While I can appreciate the 727 transmission, I really have to question this swap. I can see that you may realize a small dollar savings, but how much will you actually save? By the time you modify the driveshaft because the transmissions are different lengths, and make a new crossmember, how much have you actually saved?I am thinking once everything is said and done, you might still be money and time ahead if you just re-build the trans you already have. Just a thought.

Thanks for the reply. I didn't realize they were different lengths. A friend told me they would be a direct swap. Good thing I checked. Thanks
