Left blinker stuck. Wut happened?

I wuz drivin home today with my dad and i saw when i went to turn that my left blinker didnt blink. it just froze. I think it could be a blown taillight. Could that be the problem? I just got some new high intensity taillight bulbs. Could that be wuts makin it do that?

could be if they use the same bulb. Might try replacing the bulbs with the old ones and see if it still does it.

They flash based on the load to flasher unit. If your hi-intesity lites are bulb style you may be overloading the flasher and need a bigger one, if led kind that should not be a problem. Check if your flasher gets hot at the time. I think you have a wire problem if it's only one side. check wires where you did the work.

Update!

I went out to change the bulbs and it turns out that the bulb just got shook loose and was sittin in the bottom of the glass. I had to put it back in and it works like new now.

Good lesson: was it installed right or just looked like it was. make sure the socket isn't flaking on you. Now you know something extra about you truck. When the flasher unit starts bulb is on. If not enough bulbs working, the flasher heater won't heat enough to flash and stays locked on. In newer rigs that problem can give high speed flashing of blinkers. Oldest rule of troubleshooting elctrical: Is it plugged in ?

Doing something wrong is not stupid.
Doing something wrong and not learning is stupid.
You're learning, having to do it over is a good teacher.
But double checking and really seeing what you're looking at
will save the time of do over, and needless failures.
