Question Tire question?

I have an all stock 1994 Ford Ranger 4x4 and im looking to replace the old worn tires with something that has a little more bite. i am currently running 275/70/R16 Michellin LTX M/S on 2002 16" ranger rims. I found Dunlop Radial Mud Rovers and the only size that will fit the rims with out upgrading to a larger rim are 305/70/R16. I was wondering if these tires would affect how sharp i could turn. some other things i was wondering was how off would my speedometer be and how much gas would these tires devour driving down the road. any response will be appreciated.

my buddy got a set of those and i got a set of BFG mudders at the same time and his tires wore out in no time and i still had full tread on mine, well worth the few extra bucks.
