As far as I know nothing. the only reason the DPF was on there was to catch the particles that make "black smoke" then burn them off once it was full. With it gone I don't see how it would do anything but help. International made that motor, then ford designed the DPF around it. The motor is made to run either way. And in the long run if it proves itself it will be one of the best motors ever. Just the difference in injection systems between the 7.3/6.0 to the 6.4 is a huge step in the right direction compared to the dinosaur system on the 7.3/6.0

That's no bueno but things are bound to get better! Keep an eye out for an older 7.3 You can find some amazing deals on them. My F-350 now i bought cause I saw it on the side of the road (at a lot, not broken down ). The guy didnt even have it listed anywhere.

well i live next to the largest military base in the world. and we were told they were movin 40,000 more troops here (and alot of civilan personel to go along with them) so people started building like crazy. the troops were supposed to be here last may and none are here yet. so we have several companies with 50-100 houses just sitting with no1 to buy them. it costs roughly 1000 bucks a month in interest to have a house just sitting. so builders have stopped building until they sell some houses. this problem is compounded with the national interest rate problem. when mortgagestarted givin out "baloon" rates a few yrs back so that people who normally couldnt get a loan could. tons of people started buying houses. but now that the interest rates have starting inflating (hence"baloon") most of the people cant afford them, so even less people are buying houses. but dont even get me started on the people that cant afford their $800,000 homes now that their interest rates are huge, bc i'm pretty pissed about the govt. wanting to bail them out. seriously. i work hard and pay my bills and taxes. then the gotv takes my taxes and gives out welfare to the poor and now wants to pay for the houses for the people who think they're rich. i'm pissed. rant off. but being a sub-contractor with so little being. times are hard

balloons usually refer to a large extra payment regardless of rate changes. Most people are in trouble because they didn't read what they were signing, nor did they read the papers in the 70s and 80s when we did all this before. Ever hear of the S&L bailout ? Building on spec is a rich man's game I got no problem with, but people not paying bills that they should have known they would not be able to ? I say foreclose and be done with it, they're theives by their willful ignorance. Not a rant, just have no sympathy for those who don't take responsibility for their actions. You promise to pay, the loan does what was print and signed by you, don't tell me a "victim" story. LOL, are you listening Mud ?

Balloons, and Adjustable rate mortgages are two entirely different things.
Non-conforming loans, and super creative financing are what people are getting in trouble with. 80/20's and a 3/27 ARM first mortgage looks real nice for the first 36 months, and could be a decent deal if the housing market was strong, but homes were selling for way more than they were really worth. Since the housing market was "artificially" inflated, the problem of neg equity and a rate adjustment has put people in a bunch of trouble.
Many people got in way over thier heads. This did not exclude lenders. These lenders have been falling by the wayside. Our here in So CA. they are closing like crazy. Even super large banks and overseas investors have pulled out.
Not the fiest time this has happened though. The housing market crashes every once in a while. Just part of the game.
Nobody remembers conforming loans with a 16 to 19 percent interest rate?
Was a few years ago, so some may not have been in the housing market then.
Bottom line is, we need to read and understand what we sign, and should all be accountable for our actions.
