| my dad has been detailing cars for a hobby since he retired in 2001 and has never had a problem getting rims clean with off the shelf tire cleaner from the dollar store!

| Could someone explain to me the chemistry that causes an inert material to react on the wheels? I rarely clean the dust off the wheels since I can't see it while driving - that look doesn't bother me. When I do clean them, I only use running water and a sponge brush. Complete clean and no chemicals. Have been thnking about using the steamer hose on them but more complicated than I need. |

WD-40 works fantastic. Tree sap, road grime, and even chewing gum that someone spit out of the window. If you can stand the smell, a little diesel works wonders on most of the sticky stuff too. | |

| Big fan of WD40 for removing double stick type or duct tape glues from lots of plastic places.Little soak, little rubbing with folded paper towel. |
