Question Exhaust options for '97 F-250HD?

The wife's truck is going to need a new exhaust soon. The problem I'm running in to is no one makes a 'performance exhaust' for it since it is a 460 (7.5 liter). Right now it is a single exhaust (crossover to single 3" catalyst, 3" single pipe to 3" inlet/dual 2" outlet muffler). Am I on my own here??? I have to stick with the catalyst(s) since I live in an emissions-testing area.

Are headers even an option for one?

Do I have to 'biggie-size' a Lightning-style dual exhaust???

any competant exhaust shop should be able to do whatever you want to it. yes you can use headers but if you cannot find a set with the bungs for 02 senors they offer weld in bungs. headers with a good set of high flow cats and mufflers will be a good setup.

Who makes headers for a 460 truck? You're talking shorties, right?

I guess whatever I do will be a custom system since I don't see any direct-fit aftermarket packages. I talked to the Borla reps when they were at the local dragstrip - they looked at me like I was from Mars or something. What, they only make systems for new trucks???

Banks makes a complete "Gas" performance exhaust that has headers and a full exhaust system.

Flow Tech also makes a header for your ride. I believe the part number is 12560
Hedman also makes a very good header for the 7.5L and this is a part number 89340. It is called a street header. These fit very well.
