| Yep, me again. Wife's '97 F-250HD 7.5 ext cab automatic has developed a shuddering on medium-to-hard braking. I've already replaced the front rotors, pads, etc, and even went as far as to replace the rear drums and rear brakes, but the shuddering persists. Oh, and new front shocks, too (rears have <10k miles)! What should I be looking for? HELP!!! |

| can you explain the shuddering some more, like does it feel like warped rotars or what. Give us an idea here of what it feels like

| 'Brand new rotors. Twice' Next time, have the new rotors surfaced before installation to make sure there's no runout. You will have to take the latest ones out and have them resurfaced to stop the shudder. |

| Have you had the tires checked? My first instinct was the rotors too, but apparently it's not that. Could be death wobble, but that doesn't narrow it down to anything. Check your steering, and your wheel bearings.

| There's no pulsing in the brake pedal like you get with warped rotors. I'm wondering if it could be a worn driveshaft center support bearing or maybe a bad trans mount causing a driveline shudder. Tires don't seem to make a difference. It does it with the summer tires as well as the snow tires. You got me wondering about steering linkage - (truck just developed a leaky steering box), but there isn't any steering wheel vibration. |

| A driveline problem usually does not appear when applying the brakes, this usually occurs under acceleration, but checking the center support bearing is a good idea. I would check all of your steering components and your ball joints. |

| Sorry im so late on this one, but i would have to say that either all your tires, summer and snow, are all off balance or, im not sure if shudder would happen with this, but maybe it could be out of alignment. Course, im just a 15 year old, what do i know??? Thats probably what all yall older folks are thinkin, aint it??? Well, thats what i think it could be. Good luck figurin it out man.
