| 428 heads The 77 F-150 (I bought for parts for the78 4X4) had a 352 block I saved the heads and intake but the previous owner slung a rod through the block, will a 390 block take these heads?

| Never mind, I chewed on a Ford mechanic's ear and he says that a 390 would be best for these heads.

| Most of the bare blocks of FE engines have 352 cast into them because it's the starting point for the engine sizes. FE refers to Ford-Edsel. The 332/352's were introduced on 1958 Fords, the 361 was Edsel's FE engine. This 361 engine lasted only one year. The 332's were discontinued after 1959. The 390 was introduced in 1961 on cars, 1968 on F Series trucks. The 360 was introduced in 1968, and was only used in F Series trucks. F Series trucks used the 352 from 1965 thru 1967. Chances are the engine that those heads came off of was either a 360 or 390. Those heads will go on FE's up to the 428. |
