wont start at first

I have a f150 4x4 with a 351, and it will not start at first. But if you crank on it for bit it will start .From that point it will start all day ,but the next morning I have to do it again.

Welcome to the forum tnbuckrut
Why are you hiding your ford question in the dodge section?

Sounds like fuel leaking down... How long is a bit for cranking ?

is it a SEFI 351? maybe the timing needs adjusted or it needs a tuneup. vehicles i have messed with sometimes are a pain to start when cold with timing being off. a car i just got has a 302 and it needed a tuneup. it would crank over forever and hard to start. put in new plugs, cap, rotor, and wires in it and it pops right off now. first thing i would do is pull a plug or 3 and check the cap and rotor condition. could quite posibly be a fuel filter issue also.

sounds like it might lose its prime some overnight and then once its started up in the morning it keeps its prime up good enough for it to start right up during the day. im no master tech but it sounds about right though.
