Ranch Hand Grill Guards

Hey there. I'm hoping to get one of the ranch hand grill guards and I've been told they're so heavy that they drop the front end like an inch to two inches. So I was just wondering if any of you knew where I could just get like a two inch block lift kit for just the front end. I have a 5inch lift on my truck so far so I would need like the brackets for a 7 inch lift. Most of the lifts I've been seeing they are like an entire kit for front, back, leaf springs, and I don't need all that! So if anybody has any advice on where to go to find individual parts like this I would love your input!

Those grill gaurds are really that heavy? I wish I could help you with your actual question, just was shocked to hear, 2 inches lower? I see a lot of trucks like yours around with grill guards like that, and they sit pretty level, so if that is the case, I am sure there is something that will help you.

it depends. The grill gaurds are not that heavy and bolt to the factory bumper etc..

The full replacement bumpers are heavy but wiht your suspension I would not worry to much about it. it will drop it a little but not 2 inches.

I'm cant find it now but there is a kit that uses spacers for the coil springs (pretty much a level kit) that will work great.

I agree with john wayne. You may want to get the guard first. Then worry about the lift later. If anything, just go to Advanced auto parts and get some coil-spring helpers. They're just basically wedges that fit inbetween coils of your springs and stiffin up the suspension. I know a lot of people use them for plow trucks.

Ah k. That sounds good... yeah I had a guy talking to me about these grill guards and I guess he was assuming that I was going to get the entire thing, bumper and guard, all at once. Which is not the case... I would like to just to get the installation over with but having found the guards for such a great deal, and not so much on the bumpers, I think the guard is going to come first. So the coil spacers should do the job for the grill guard alone... SWEET! Haha b/c I really didn't want to buy a whole lot more than I had to just for the grill guard

if you are just going with a gaurd you don't need the spacers at all. they are not that heavy. if you were going with a full replacement I would recomend the spacers.

I know that some people install them for looks and others install them in case a deer or cow decides to cross in front of your truck while driving at a high rate of speed I wouldn't worry about it dropping much.

Yeah I work with cows and I live in an orange grove (which we actually have deer that hang around here and jump out of nowhere sometimes) so I don't really want to end up with SOMETHING smashing into my truck. Them looking B/A is a perk though!

Driving to San, Antonio from Houston to see my grandchildren im always' seeing deers that have been hit on the side of the road my bud hit one in his truck at 30 mph it sure did some damage I placed those deer warning dealys in the front of my truck I like traveling when the deers are out just to get out of traffic.
