Welcome to the site:

I recall using a 60's wiper motor on a 56 F truck. I had to modify it to work under dash, but keeping off of the firewall is clean.
You should be able to use the 55 unit, I do not see why it would not work.
I also recall a little problem understanding the "Park feature" and wiring associated with this.
What type of wiring harness, and switch will you be using, or will you be wiring it from scratch?

started out just going to put a engine in it. then things got out of hand. now it's a body off project. a little bit nostalgia and some creature comforts. kept the solid axle but dropped it 4 inches. small block ford 351w bumped out to 427 500hp 550 lbs torque top loader 4 speed. body work is almost done. on my 3rd primer and final block sanding. took about 6 month. body back on frame. dash, door jambs, inside painted. headers will be like the 60s gassers. have most parts already. started 1 yr ago. believe it or not,but everything is under an oak tree and a harbor freight canopy. sorry, get me started i can't quit. thanks for asking tom

Sounds like a sweet project there. Using a 9" out back? How about the "rollers"? What kind of tire and wheel combo are you considering?
I really like these trucks, especially the 56. I love the grille, and the little lip above the windscreen.
Which rear window do you have? I am partial to the big window trucks.
Gotta love when projects get out of hand. Is there any other way?

yup,9" with 308 gears right now. will have to see what the rpm will be,. then adj. an install a posi. dropped the rear about 6" and tucked the springs under the frame. if i need a wider tire i'll have the room. roll pan under the bed with 39 ford taillights frenched in. gas tank under bed behind rear end. right now tires are a nostalgia style with the 60s slotted mags. chrome grill and bumper, tilt hood. having lots of fun doing this, but **** it's expensive (or so my wife says). keeps an old man off the street tho.
