86 project

I just bout a 1986 F150 with a 351 Windsor motor with a carb. Whenever I put in antifreeze it pours out of somewhere. I put a brand new water pump on and the hoses have no holes or nothin, what would be next to check?

Also... above the where the alternator is mounted is another compressor(i think). its has a belt runnin between each other, there is a hose that goes over the motor and down to the exhaust pipe and looked like it was suppose to be welder onto the exhaust. What is this thing?

thanks

coolant leak

take a look at the picture that CF79 put in this post. You have several of these around the block. They are protectors so if the coolant does freeze, it simply pops these out while expanding instead of cracking the block. Most are located unther the exhaust manifolds.... But they all look the same.

well listen, before you order the plugs, take a look and see if that is the problem. If that is where the leak is, or they are missing, then fine, if not.... then we need to think of something else. Take a look, and then decide. At least, that is what I would do.

Remember once one goes out there about all ready to give out buy a Chiltons manuel it will help you in finding out things about the truck maybe even tell how many there is on that engine they can be a real pain sometimes I have done this before when not being able to remove them from block you just push them in the block and replace with new one I would buy brass plugs so they will last forever. Good luck!
