If the clear coat is ok use a good wax. If the clear coat is flaking off all you can do is strip the clear coat off and start from there. MEGUIRES makes an aluminum polish called HOT RIMS. As for making it easier MOTHERS makes something called a Power ball you put in a drill motor ,it spins and gets into all the tough spots. Checkout their web sites. Good luck!

I just spent several hours cleaning my wheels and tires yesterday. I use Simple Green degreaser and it pulls the brake dust right off, and I also trust black majic products. Everyone has a preference, however, I have never had a problem with those.
