Power window problem
Hi everyone,
I'm new around here :-) Hope that you'll be able to help me with my problem, my F-150 Power windows, just stopped working :-( I use this site quite often - 2002 F-150 Power window problem - FixYa It seems like a very common problem, i used there service a few times with great results on electronic products, but there car section is new & i don't know if it's trust worthy, I'd really appreciate, some help on how to solve my problem or a second opinion about the solution i linked to. Please if you had the same problem & solved it let me know how you did it. Thank you for your help, JenB. |

So that is your post then? Assuming it is I think all of the power windows are on one fuse, so if one is not working it is not the fuse. My guess is the motor has gone bad, probably has a short I am guessing what you are hearing is probably it trying to delivery power to that short. Perhaps one of the boys have dealt with that before

moostang you are right it is a bad motor. the only way to fix it is to replace it. factory motors they are a hit or miss if you get onr that last the life of the truck or not. i have replaced some and they work better than the factory ones ever did.

the old work truck I used to drive was a 92' F150 and I had to replace the window motor like 4 times the news ones just kept going bad so yea it's a common problem. I used to bang the door right around the area of the motor and the motor would work temporarily.
it's a pretty straight forward easy fix the door panel removal isnt that bad and niether is the win/motor I think they used bolts to hold it in place unlike GM and rivets that need to be drilled out.

i own a few few ford cars with power windows. the cars hate having the windows all the way down. when rolled down all the way the motor has a bad spot and i have to tap the motor with a hammer after either removing door panel or speaker from door. many times the motors are good if you here them and is just the plastic bushings if you can still hear the motor working. hope it all werks out for ya.
