i just got a 98 f150. i travel lots of ruff roads in the desert. what is most prone to go wrong on the fords? this is the first driveable ford that i have owned. how does the steering, brakes, 4wheel drive, and rest of the truck hold up? thanks for any help u can give.

WOW, I am like totally the worst guy here to have seen this first....LOL... but I would say, depending on the terrain itself, Like any truck, I would think shocks would be the first concern. The TC"s and 4x4 systems will hold up with proper maitinence, the brakes are the same. Actually, most common problems to look for would be Exhaust leaks, rust spots creating weak points in the frame, and the brake light bulbs. For some reason, those blow out quick in those trucks. Anyways, like with any truck, with proper care, you should be fine. Keep it lubricated, keep it clean and stay on top of it and you should be fine.
