lift kit question ?

I am planning on buying a new or newer F350 and want to fit 38's under it.I am concerned about the ride after I install a lift, not so much the rough ride over stock but the steering and wandering .I have a lifted 97 F350 and it rides real good .I have lifted others with coil springs years ago (Bronco's) and if you went more than 4" it would steer bad, also what about driveshaft angles etc. I don't really like changing u joints on the highway ? What brand lift do you recommend.

Thanks for the help

It depends on what you are going to use the truck for. If you are building a concrete cowboy truck just get a cheap lift. If you plan to wheel and use the truck, I would recommend Skyjacker. What else are you going to do to the truck? I am sure you already know once you start changing things, everything will have to be changed. What gears are you planning to go with?

Oh and by the way, if you do plan to wheel this truck...

STAY A WAY FROM LIFT BLOCKS.

EXCELLENT point.... check out this thread for all the answers to that topic... http://www.truckforum.org/forums/4x4...s-dont-do.html

Now I suggested fabtech due to it being great quality for solid axle lifts.... but regardless of which you want, avoiding lift blocks is always a good idea.

Fabtech has some awsome stuff. I use to sell Fabtech kits just so I can see how they look installed. Another good one is BDS. They have a **** fine warrenty as well.

thanks for the replies

I put a deposit on a 2006 dodge 2500 diesel today .I know why buy a dodge when all I have ever owned is Ford. Friends of mine have them and seem to have good luck .The newer F series diesels seem to have alot of problems and to find a low mileage F350 with a 7.3 is not easy.

Thanks for all your help

Jimmy
