Kill the Driver seatbelt bell

Anyone know how i can deactivate the driver seatbelt alarm/bell? My cellphone rings better than it and it is annoying.

Yes i know -put on my seatbelt.

some of the newer cars are pressure sensitive. i know the Chevy trailblazers are like that. i know it is a law in most, if not all states to wear your seatbelt and may be illegal to tamper with them. with that being said, you may just have to buckle the belt before you get into the truck.

i always do when i am on the road - it is second hand. The problem is when you stop and pullover at a jobsite and the truck is still running or in between jobsites on no major roads or backing up to load or unload a trailer by yourself, you sit in the seat and the bell continues to ring on and off.

there is a plug underneath that yu can undo. if your airbag light comes on after you take it out you need to have it pluged in. all of the work trucks we have are f150s but most are 04s and we have one 07 and this one we couldnt do that to because of thsi reason. just trace a wire from your seatbelt(the part that it plugs into) and there should be a wire coming off it witha disconnect somewhere under the seat. easy fix if its not to new

check the manual. It will give you instructions on how to disable the dinger. you have to turn the key on and wait for the seatbelt light to go off then buckle and unbuckle the belt like 5 times or something. It's in the manual though.

Or you can take it to the dealer and have them program it not to chime. It is a function of programmable parameters. The light on the dash will stay on but it will not chime. shouldn`t charge more than a half hour to do it.

Two methods, and two solutions.
There are also methods for the key in ignition, and headlight dingers.
Here is what you are looking for. No need to take it back to dealerships, or spend any money.
Keep in mind the dinger will still ding, during the initial start-up.

The first method, temporary deactivation, or one time disable: After you have started your vehicle, buckle and then un-buckle your safety belt. Be sure to buckle back up.... This will disable the Belt Minder only for that ignition cycle.

The second method, permanent deactivation: There are 9 steps you need to follow to deactivate or activate your Belt Minder system. Before doing so, make sure that:

* The parking brake is set.
* The truck/car is in Park (automatic), Neutral (manual).
* The ignition is OFF.
* All doors are closed.
* The driver's safety belt is un-buckled.
* The parking and headlights are OFF.

Then follow these 9 steps:

1. Turn the ignition switch to ON, but DO NOT START.
2. Wait for the safety belt warning light to go OFF(1-2 minutes).

Steps 3-5 MUST be completed within 60 seconds!

3. Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.
4. Turn on the headlights, turn off the headlights.
5. Buckle, then un-buckle the driver's safety belt 3 times, ending with the belt un-buckled.

After step 5, the Safety Belt Warning Light will be turned on for 3 seconds.

6. Within 7 seconds of the safety belt warning light turning OFF, buckle then un-buckle the safety belt.

This will disable the Belt Minder if it is currently enabled, or enable the Belt Minder if it is currently disabled.

7. Confirmation of the disabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds.
8. Confirmation of the enabling of the Belt Minder is provided by flashing the safety belt warning light 4 times per seconds for 3 seconds, followed by 3 seconds with the safety belt light off, then followed by flashing the safety belt light 4 times per second for 3 seconds again.
9. After confirmation, the deactivation/activation of the Belt Minder procedure is complete.

Good luck......

The SD does not have a seat pressure sensor, and I do not have a schematic to see if there is anything tied into the two plugs under the seat, but I will agree that disconnecting the correct harness should work too.
