95 F-150 4x4 tranny leak Transmission leak, appears to be (and was diagnosed by mechanic as) leaking between auto trans & transfer case. Had it "fixed" (I think he used silicone). Fix lasted about 2 weeks. Is this a common problem on these? At least I know it'll never suffer from dirty fluid - I replace about a gallon a month!

sounds to me that you need to take it back and have him do it the right way or pay to have someone tht knows what they are doing do it right. is it dripping from there or blowing off of the backside of the pan??

Guess what I was lookin fer is some kind of TSB or something regarding this problem. It has been "fixed" more than once by reputable Mechanics, including one Ford trained trans tech. (Before I bought it - I think that's why the first owner traded it in). I guess this winter I'll have to tackle it myself. Brings to mind a tech competition years back on a C6 w/ a porus case - oozed fluid over about a 3 sq. in. area. That was a tough one, but won me an Omega watch, which I promptly lost after layin it on top of a car I was workin on on the yard and then takin it on a test drive.
