Friends Ford My Friend wanted me to get on here to ask a question for him..he says he will register for an account when he can get around a computer but, he has an 89 Ford F-250 and hes wanting to do some prerformance mods to it and hes not sure what all he can do..he says he cant do chips due to the lack of a computer in his truck and he's just wanting some ideas on some performance mods...ALSO he wanted me to ask if you guys might know what could be wrong wit his truck..he was driving it to his house for the 1st time and it died at a gas station in which he left it, and he had it towed to a shop so they could work on it. theyve had it for about 2 weeks now they replaced the fuel injector, the starter, cleaned the lines, along with a few other expensive things and swear that the truck still dies...have any clue what it might be?

tell your Friend to tell the shop, that if the parts they replaced did not solve the problem that he's not paying for them. i would take it somewhere where they will do a complete diagnostic on it before they start throwing parts at it. everything they replaced could have been easily tested. as for performance, there should be chip that can be burned for the computer.

Yes, why did they replaced everything without even knowing the problem first. Your friend should not pay them. Try to look at the spark plugs, engines and anything under the hood. The fuels and the electricity. He can fix everything by his own, just know how to. And about the mods, the exterior and interior can be simply modified and it will depend on what you really want. The wheels, tires, tints, doors, wiper motor and everything you want to be changed. Good luck bro. Last edited by mudseeker; 10-24-2008 at 04:06 AM. Reason: remove link

Your friends Ford has a bad ignition module. All fords with this problem have bad ignition modules. This is a shiny silver box located on the driverside inner fender. This duraspark II ignition is great when it works, and will leave you stranded when it does not. What kind of shop is not aware of this? This module can be tested, and purchased at local autoparts, but spend the extra dough on an OEM unit. AFtermarket units fail far too often. Some ford owners actually carry an extra one. Takes about 2 minutes to replace. Less if you have done it before. Ford pros can have one changed before the light changes after the truck died in an intersection. Ask me how I know..........
