| 4.6 oil leak?? We have a 2000 4.6 engine leak on a truck at work. It is coming out from behind starter it looks like. Stops leaking when down to add mark on dipstick. Is it the head gasket or pan gasket. |

| Those are notorius for head gaskets. If it is above the starter that is most likely your problem. |

| Check where the distributor is I think that's where to oil sending unit is at it might have a bad o-ring replace with a green o-ring. You can clean that area real good then pour some baby power/flour in that area so that you can see if it's leaking oil from that area might save you a lot of work. |
