  |  SMOKIN F-550 lol  SO my company truck was in at the dealer to get the hard cold start problem fixed (many codes for glow plugs) BUT of course it didn`t get in and i got a call to go to work so i had to fire up my dependable chevy and try to go get the old (05) superduty, well it didn`t like to start if it was -5c and today it was -25c so i cycled the key 3 times for the glow plugs to do what they could, well i cranked and cranked, it fired, on a few cylinders for about 3 minutes....and the black smoke was unbelievable.....like a locomotive, i wish i had a video camera, i took a pic with my cell phone but it was early morning and the phone sucks.... but here it is anyways, I`m just sharing this cause i was laughing my butt off about it this morning...If it wilstart tommorow i WILL make a vid of it....

| thanks for the advice  .......it took me 45mins today at -28c (PLUGGED IN AND BEING BOOSTED BY ANOTHER VEHICLE) to get her rolling, my appologies to the enviroment but its gonna have to kep running till tommorow when it again goes to the dealer...suposed to be -31c tonight.

| There is an updated FICM calibration for poor running cold condition for the 6.0 diesel. The new calibration will heat the injector spools for better cold operation. |

| Sorry.. I should have read you original post better. Be sure to check the resistance at the connector for the glow plug harness when you are done though as they have some problems there as well.. |
